Looking for a new Hair Straightener

I'm in need of a new hair straightener as I have really thick and wavy hair. I bought a really cheap one at a drug store in Manhattan about 10 years ago so my hair straightener didn't really owe me anything. I did a bunch of asking and Remington and Chi were recommended to me, do you have a favorite brand?
